The Carriere Family

My life continues to be blessed. I have been married for over 21 years to a wonderful, giving man who will move the earth for me. We have four beautiful children, Nicole (20), Danielle (17), Katelyn (16) and Vincent (13).

Our children are healthy and happy, thank God. They are good students and hard working athletes, each with their own personality and gifts. They enjoy spending time with one another, as odd as that sounds, given three are teenage girls! We live a simple life – a small home, no fancy cars, just two mini-vans that play taxi for the most part. Bill and I do our best to provide a home that reflects the values we were taught as children.

As I sit in the stands at a new gym at Fanshawe, watching Nicole play varsity basketball, I realize that it is so true, life really does go full circle. My wish for her, as with all our children, is that she finds the joy I found with not only my sport but also my career choice.

After a "family meeting", the Carriere kids were clear – they wanted to do it again, this time with even more involvement from the kids themselves.

"As I was running down the highway with my mom, seeing so many people come out in support because of their own cancer experiences, I knew ONERUN would not end there. It is an amazing feeling to be able to make a difference, so I wanted to be a part of it." -Nicole Carriere
