![]() My name is Theresa Carriere. I am 46 years old. I have survived breast cancer. And I am about to run 100 kilometres in a single day. The event is called ONERUN and for me it means running from London to Sarnia to raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. ONERUN is one way for me, as a mom, to protect my daughters from the emotional and physical pain of breast cancer. Perhaps the money we raise will be the last needed to find a cure. At the very least, it will take us all another step along the path. ONERUN also enables me to send my own message of hope to others who are fighting breast cancer. To show them that they too can beat it, they too can come back strong. ONERUN is a tribute to those who have lost their battle with breast cancer. Our promise that they and their families will not be forgotten. It is a tool to motivate people to run and to be active, to share my passion for fitness. Encouraging everyone to participate, all ages, all fitness levels. Finally, ONERUN is a celebration of life, good health and great friends. This is my story. |
